This program is not a repetition of an MROP experience, but is designed to give you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of initiation while inviting and sponsoring another man to attend the MROP. As an initiator, you can arrive as early as Monday April 25th, to help the team with setup. Throughout the week, you will be asked to help with other tasks as well. If you can come early to help with setup we will deduct $50 off of the $400 fee. If you can stay later on Sunday to help pack up, we will deduct $50 as well.
The Initiator Program will run parallel to the actual week of April 25-April 29, 2018 MROP at Aravaipa Ranch, Arizona. It gives you, as an initiated man, the opportunity to hold the container for the entire MROP process. Following the tradition of the elders taking the young men to be initiated and holding the container, you will be joining us for the five days as we "keep the edges hot" in our role of supporting the MROP process. This will deepen your experience of what happened at your own MROP as we are present in each gathering in the Sacred Space for the rituals and teachings led by Illuman Weaver Jim Taylor. You will also be led through a series of reflections, silence, and time in nature as we form the Sacred Circle of Prayer and Presence in Council led by Illuman President Terry Symens-Bucher. Most of all, we will stand, shoulder to shoulder, giving prayerful strength and support to the MROP team and the men being initiated.
Some of you have sponsored a man for initiation. If you have not or know of someone else to sponsor, can still do so as we continue to sign-up initiates but we are filling up fast. So, continue to encourage men you think are ready.
If you are financially able to do so, please consider making a contribution for a man to participate in the MROP – this money will be used for scholarships for MROP applicants of limited means. We have had several men who have asked for financial assistance
Remember, we ask that you come with an attitude of faith and prayer. Masculine spirituality can only be discovered if it is a true spiritual search for “the Holy Mystery.” Come as a participant from beginning to end, and not as an observer.
